We are in week 5 of confinement and many people are wondering how real estate is doing in times of pandemic.

What can brokers do, how will the market recover, etc.?

Que peut faire un courtier immobilier en cette période

Brokers can do a lot of things virtually: video-conferences, live virtual visits with our sellers who are in their property to show potential buyers, prepare promise to purchase documents remotely and have them signed electronically.

However, they cannot do one of the most important things in a real estate transaction, visit the property or have it inspected by an inspector.

We will have to establish sanitary protocols and new rules for visits before we think of going back to the market to accompany our clients on the property.

We have to wait for the decree to come to an end and be ready to do our work with new rules that will ensure that we and our clients, buyers and sellers will be able to do it safely in terms of public health.

Many of you have contacted your real estate brokers and have told us that you wish to sell your property as soon as the context allows it. Many buyers also tell us that they will be there once business resumes. This leads me to believe that we will see a return to a balanced market when everything starts up again, allowing buyers and sellers to make their move at a calmer pace than in the last two years.

In the meantime, take good care of yourself.

We’re just a phone call away.
